IEEE Conference on Network Softwarization
25-29 June 2018 – Montreal, Canada

About

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 4th IEEE International Conference on Network Softwarization (NetSoft 2018), that will be held on June 25-29, 2018 in the heart of Montreal, Canada, one of the most vibrant cities in North-America.

Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Cloud-Edge-Fog Computing are driving an unprecedented techno-economic shift in the Telecom and ICT industries. Network softwarization and programmability promise to reduce operational costs, provide better flexibility and bring new service paradigms. In particular, they will enable the deployment of 5G infrastructures, spanning from high data rate fixed-mobile services to the Internet of Things, which is expected to accelerate the digital transformation that all the industry is witnessing. As a result, new service models and new value chains will emerge, leading to novel business models and significant socio-economic impact.

NetSoft 2018 will shed light on the key technology components and systems underlying SDN-NFV, clouds-edges and emerging network service infrastructures for the efficient handling of heterogeneous resources across networks and datacenter domains, and the easy and fast deployment of new ICT services. As the growing need for agility, automation and autonomy, witnessed by various operating-platform initiatives, is creating new challenges and calling for novel solutions, smart networking with embedded AI leveraging NFV and SDN becomes essential. Indeed, smart networking can only be made possible through the exploration and exploitation of massive network data with analytics tools and machine learning techniques, essential to the proactive management of the softwarized infrastructures. This evolution will be reflected in the theme of the 2018 edition of NetSoft: “Achieving smart network softwarization”.

We are pleased to announce that NetSoft 2018 will offer to its attendees a variety of compelling sessions, including technical presentations, keynotes delivered by world-class experts, demonstrations and panel discussions. Additionally, the program will feature engaging tutorials and workshops. The conference aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners from all over the world to explore the opportunities and challenges of network softwarization for industry, academia, governments, enterprises and other market segments.

Montreal is indeed an ideal location for NetSoft 2018. It is one of the most innovative cities in the world, sustained by numerous universities, among which Concordia University, the venue of the conference. Montreal is continuously hosting a variety of festivals and events, in particular in June, and has a lot to offer to visitors.

NetSoft 2018 and the vibrant city of Montreal are waiting for you.
