Arriving To Montréal

Travelling to Montréal by Plane

Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport situated 21 Km from the city. There are several ways to get from the airport to the Montreal downtown (Berri-UQÀM subway station):

BUS

It is the best and the cheapest way to get to Montreal center. The 747 bus line service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, between Montréal-Trudeau airport and Montreal downtown (corner of Berri and Sainte-Catherine – Berri-UQAM station). Travel time may vary between 45 to 70 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. After arriving to Berri-UQAM metro station, you take the metro to reach your destination, The metro map can be found here,

The tickets can be purchased from the fare vending machines in the airport arrivals area. Payment in cash, by debit card or with VISA or MasterCard credit cards accepted. There are only three types of tickets that are accepted in the 747 bus line:

  • 1-day pass (cost: 10$)
  • 3-day pass (cost: 18$)
  • The weekly pass (cost: 25.5$).

Other types of tickets (1-trip tickets, 10-trip tickets are not accepted in the 747 bus line). Finally, all those tickets provide full access to all buses and the metro network for the duration of their validity.

TAXI

Taxis can also be found at the airport. Not far from the arrival area, you can find an exit door that leads to taxi ranking area. The journey to the city centre will take you between 20 to 30 minutes and you should expect to pay around 40$. More details can be found here.
